Coway Received a Delegation from University of New South Wales

On Jan. 22nd 2016, Coway International TechTrans Co., Ltd. received a delegation from University of New South Wales (UNSW). The two parties discussed about the Torch Innovation Precinct to be built in UNSW. Representatives of UNSW expressed that they wanted Coway to be involved in this project.


With the combined support from Chinese and Australian government, the new model — Torch Innovation Precinct will be introduced to Australia, boosting Sino-Australian relations to a new stage. Located in a globalized campus like UNSW, the Torch Innovation Precinct will be an ideal venue for entrepreneurs, and manifest the close ties between China and Australia. Torch Innovation Precinct in UNSW will become a hub for well-established enterprises and research experts from the field of energy and environment, advanced materials and biotechnology.


Coway, as the professional service provider in technology transfer and commercialization, has established an extensive resource network across the globe, and maintained good relations with various organizations. Ever since its establishment in 2002, Coway has been closely focusing on energy and environment, biochemistry and advanced manufacturing, and accumulated rich experiences in the above-mentioned fields. Representatives from UNSW said that Coway’s involvement in this project will serve as a strong momentum to its smooth progression.


Furthermore, the two parties discussed how Coway can follow up companies interested in investing in the project; how Coway can facilitate the execution of the project; how to apply for seed funding and how to mobilize financial resources.


Representatives of UNSW include: Professor Ian Jacobs, President & Vice-Chancellor; Professor Brian Boyle, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research); Ms. Fiona Docherty, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International); Dr. Kevin Cullen, Chief Executive Officer, UNSW Innovations; Mr. Laurie Pearcey, Director – International Strategy (Greater China & India); Ms. Shahina Mohamed, Operations Director/International & External Liaison, Office of the President & Vice-Chancellor; and Ms. Rachel Wei, China Country Manager.


Coway and UNSW have explicitly stated their willingness to cooperate, and are now jointly making preparations for launching the project.
